It has taken me a couple of months to get to this point where I pen my thoughts down again, after over a year! If only fitness were inelastic as per the laws of economics – you remain fit once you have attained fitness without having to maintain the same level of effort. To cut the long story – I am pretty much back to where I started in January 2016. But that is fine! Life happens.
I have decided to do this again! Failure is being down and not getting back up. You would think that the fact that I successfully lost 20kg in 4 months would be motivation enough to hit the streets and start running again…. It has been tough! The mental challenge of re-committing to a schedule has been the biggest barrier. I guess the greatest motivation now is the memory of how I worked my body to shape and the desire to want to look like that again.
Don’t ask me what happened – let’s just say I stopped working out, I started eating just about anything, and I piled on the pounds again. Unfortunately, some of us don’t have the luck of eating much and staying small…..what we eat shows on us, very quickly at that!
So, stay tuned on this road trip that I have re-embarked on. I really have to do this, for myself, my health, and for all the people who got on the fitness train because of my story. 2 years after, I am back where I started, but I will do it again! Operation #This Fat Must Go (TFMG).
